Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: October 2025

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Murphies Law website and the services provided by Murphies Law ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, or purchasing any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

PART A: GENERAL TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

1. Our Status and Scope of Service (CRITICAL)

1.1. Status: Murphies Law is a non-regulated will-writing and document preparation service. We are not a firm of solicitors, nor are we regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

1.2. Service Limitation: We provide automated and template-based legal documents based solely on the information you provide. We do not offer legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, or personalized legal recommendations. Any guidance provided on our website or in our Guides is for informational purposes only.

1.3. Communication: All correspondence and notices regarding the Will document preparation or lead referral service will be sent from the email address: [email protected].

2. Your Responsibilities

2.1. You must be at least 18 years of age and of sound mind to use our services.

2.2. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all information you provide to Murphies Law is complete, accurate, and truthful. We rely entirely on your input to generate documents or qualify leads.

2.3. You accept that you are solely responsible for the correct execution and witnessing of the final Will document, following the mandatory instructions we provide. Failure to follow these instructions may render your Will invalid.

3. Limitation of Liability (READ CAREFULLY)

3.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Murphies Law is not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from:

* Errors or omissions in the information you provide.

* Your failure to correctly sign, date, or witness the final Will document.

* Any reliance you place on general information or guides provided by Murphies Law.

* Any advice or action taken by a third-party solicitor or professional to whom we refer you.

3.2. If a Will generated through our service is found to be defective due to an error in our template, our liability shall be strictly limited to the cost you paid to Murphies Law for that specific document.

PART B: WILL DOCUMENT PREPARATION SERVICE

These terms apply to the purchase of a Basic Will ($\text{£}99$) or Mirror Will ($\text{£}145$).

4. Suitability of Basic Wills

4.1. Our Basic and Mirror Wills are suitable only for customers with straightforward personal and financial circumstances.

4.2. Your circumstances are considered COMPLEX (and require specialist advice) if they include, but are not limited to:

* Total assets exceeding $\text{£}500,000$.

* Owning property or assets outside of the UK.

* Requiring detailed Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning or advice.

* Requiring the creation of complex trusts (e.g., discretionary, protective property trusts).

* Cases involving potential claims on the estate (e.g., estranged family members).

4.3. If you purchase a Will but your circumstances later prove to be complex as defined in Section 4.2, we reserve the right to cease document preparation and issue a refund.

5. Document Delivery and Format

5.1. Upon successful payment and completion of our detailed questionnaire, we will generate the Will document based on your input.

5.2. The Will is delivered to you in a non-editable digital PDF format via email from [email protected].

5.3. It is your responsibility to print the document and follow the mandatory signing and witnessing instructions provided alongside it.

PART C: LEAD BROKERAGE AND REFERRAL SERVICE

These terms apply if you are directed to the specialist path (assets over $\text{£}500K$) and/or purchase the $\text{£}17$ Specialist Guide.

6. The Nature of the Referral

6.1. Referral Service: If our qualification process determines your needs are complex, we will offer to refer you to one of our third-party partner solicitors, regulated financial advisors, or accountants (collectively, "Partner Professionals").

6.2. Lead Data: By purchasing our Specialist Guide and/or submitting the detailed questionnaire (the "Law Firm Form"), you consent to Murphies Law transferring your name, contact information, and answers to a Partner Professional for the purpose of receiving specialist advice.

6.3. Broker Fee: You acknowledge that Murphies Law is paid a referral fee or commission by the Partner Professional for connecting them with your lead. This fee does not impact the advice you receive.

7. Relationship with Partner Professionals

7.1. Once referred, your relationship is directly and exclusively with the Partner Professional.

7.2. Murphies Law accepts no liability or responsibility for the advice, service quality, fees, or outcome of any instruction given to the Partner Professional. All claims regarding the quality of advice must be directed to that professional.

7.3. We strongly recommend that you check the Partner Professional's credentials (e.g., SRA regulation status) before engaging them.

PART D: FEES, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATION

8. Fees

8.1. Fees are: Basic Will ($\text{£}99$), Mirror Will ($\text{£}145$), and Specialist Guide ($\text{£}17$). All prices are in GBP (£).

9. Refund and Cancellation Policy

9.1. Basic/Mirror Will: Due to the custom nature of the document preparation service, once you have paid and submitted the detailed Will Form (Step 3A), work is considered started, and no refunds are available unless the error is proven to be in our document template itself.

9.2. Specialist Guide ($\text{£}17$): As this is an instant digital product and a monetized lead transfer, no refunds are available for the Specialist Guide once the payment is processed and the guide is delivered/lead is transferred.

PART E: GOVERNING LAW

10.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

10.2. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

By clicking 'I Agree' or proceeding to payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
